Daniel Johnston   MRes, BSc, RN

Daniel has assumed a range of leadership roles in emergency care provision in both clinical and research and development positions at some of the world’s most prestigious institutions including Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre, Boston MA, - Teaching Hospital-Harvard Medical, School USA, Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, King’s College London, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. He has been invited to consult on nursing management at a number of international sites as they establish or revise their emergency care provision (Haiti, Denmark, Iceland).

Throughout Daniel’s extensive clinical practice, he has occupied management and operational roles (Emergency Medicine Research Program Administrator, Clinical Service Manager of Telehealth service & Emergency Department Nurse Manager), directing frontline services to meet the contemporary challenges in healthcare provision. He trained in Change Management to aid his insight into institutional management structures and deployment of new clinical practices and technology. Daniel is a recipient of a NIHR Clinical Research Fellowship award at King’s College London, where he researched Emergency Department Overcrowding, Human Factors and Organisation Resilience in emergency care settings.

More recently, Daniel has focused on understanding the complexity of care standards while examining the opportunities for technology to digitally advance patient outcomes. These rapidly converging speciality fields are aspects of care Daniel has been at the forefront of integrating in his previous roles and he brings this passion and expertise to Imprivata. Daniel combines his clinical, academic expertise with his understanding of how digital solutions interface with human factors and clinical regulatory requirements to benefit patients, clinicians and organisations.
