Healthcare Innovators and Leaders honoured at 10th Anniversary UK&I HealthCon User Forum
Healthcare organisations across the UK and Ireland honoured at Imprivata annual user forum for successful deployments, and collaborations with technology and service partner
We’re delighted to announce the winners of our HealthCon Awards. We celebrated customer collaboration and innovation at our recent user conference, held this year on 14 November at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, Manchester. This was the 10th anniversary of the annual UK&I HealthCon User Forum which included Imprivata customer and leadership presentations, solution demonstrations and networking activities, as well as discussions and conversations around current industry trends.
The Imprivata Customer Excellence Awards ceremony is a key part of the day and celebrates healthcare leaders that have leveraged Imprivata solutions to drive value, innovation, collaboration, clinical excellence, and organisational impact.
The Imprivata Customer Excellence Awards winners for 2024 are:
Proven ROI Award Winner
This is for the customer who has fully leveraged their Imprivata solutions, either by deploying effectively across their organisation, saving time, or realising the value of Imprivata solutions in their workflows. The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust was chosen this year for its Enterprise Identity and Access Management platform deployment with Epic, its patient record system, which included a successful training programme that resulted in strong user acceptance across departments. Significant amounts of time have been saved for each clinician.
Special commendation went to Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust for the progressive optimisation of its deployment of Imprivata Mobile Access Management, resulting in the number of devices requirement being reduced, while promoting increased user adoption.
Innovator Award Winner
Surrey and Sussex Healthcare (SASH) NHS Trust was awarded the Innovator Award for the Imprivata champion whose success story resonates innovation and achievement within their organisation. The clinical informatics team at SASH delivered value using Imprivata Mobile Device Access on Zebra devices, enabling a quick and seamless sign-on process. Workflows are have been streamlined empowering healthcare professionals to capture wound photos directly into the electronic patient record without delay. This not only speeds up documentation but also connects different departments in real time, ensuring that the patient receives the highest quality of care

Special commendations go to Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for being the first Trust to implement the Imprivata NHS mail bridge, streamlining and automating email account generation, and to Belfast Health and Social Care Trust for its deployment of Imprivata Enterprise Access Management and Mobile Access Management with Epic EPR.
Impact Award Winners
This year two customers were presented with the Impact Award for achieving an outstanding rollout of an Imprivata solution – the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) NHS Foundation Trust and the Health Service Executive (HSE) with the National Rehabilitation University Hospital.
UHDB totally transformed their Enterprise Identity and Access Management installation over the course of the last 12 months. The UHDB IT team worked closely with Imprivata Professional Services and clinical colleagues across the hospital with the result that Imprivata’s solution is used widely throughout the organisation, authenticating users more than 1m times per month. Following the success of the project the UHDB team has been acting as a champion of the solution and sharing their story with other local Trusts.
Lee Sanders, Head of IT Services at Digital University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust said: “This award recognises the exceptional work that our Digital team, working with our clinicians, has achieved over the last year. Through partnership working the successful deployment of our Identity Management solution has delivered real impact across the organisation. It has saved time, improved data security and freed up our clinicians to prioritise and focus on patient care.”
The HSE with the National Rehabilitation University Hospital deployed Imprivata’s Enterprise Identity and Access Management platform in just one month, increasing adoption of the InterSystems EPR throughout the hospital.

It has integrated seamlessly with our EPR system and allows users quick and easy access to clinical systems in support of delivering patient care. The Imprivata Team have supported and guided superbly throughout our journey and have always been at hand to work through any issues.
We look forward to continuing to work together to develop solutions for clinicians to enhance patient care into the future.”
Special commendation went to United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, for its proactive approach to deploying Imprivata Enterprise Access Management.
Clinical Excellence Winner
The Clinical Excellence Award for the customer whose clinical team stands out as an exceptional proponent of Imprivata solutions, was presented to Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Successful partnership working between clinician and technical teams ensured the success of Imprivata Mobile Access Management to provide seamless access management for shared mobile devices, ensuring privacy without challenging usability in the Learning and Development Maternity Unit.
Special commendation went to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Foundation Trust for its focus on delivering clinical value throughout its deployment and optimisation of Imprivata Enterprise Access Management.
Outstanding Collaboration Winner
The Outstanding Collaboration Award for the customer who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the development and roll out of solutions across the Imprivata portfolio was presented to Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). MFT has worked consistently in partnership activities on technology innovations with Imprivata. They have deployed Imprivata solutions and shared their success stories with other Trusts at key Imprivata events and webinars, including the IT Management Forum event this year. The MFT team’s detailed knowledge and expertise of applying the solution has also resulted in collaboration on several product development improvements.
Special commendation went to East Sussex NHS Trust for its continued work with Imprivata in promoting Enterprise Access Management, now deployed on Baxter and Zebra devices, to other NHS Trusts.
The awards ceremony closed with refreshments and a fun game of darts at the Flight Club.
