HealthEast Care System successfully deploys Epic in rapid time with the help of Imprivata security solutions

HealthEast Care System, the non-profit healthcare organization located in St. Paul, Minnesota, focuses on giving their patients safe access to their health information, reliable service, and affordable, high-quality care. With a desire to successfully execute their mission, HealthEast recognized a need for improving security, enhancing clinician efficiency, and providing a more positive patient experience.

A Single Healthcare Security Platform

HealthEast sought out a single security platform that was embedded within native Epic workflows for single sign-on and Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS). They calculated that workflows without such a platform would increase the number of times a clinician had to log in to their workspace from 10-15 times a day to nearly 300.

In November 2014, HealthEast Care System chose the Imprivata authentication and access management platform to help complete the Epic deployment within four months.

With Imprivata single sign-on and two-factor authentication, physicians were able to save time, reduce the amount of logins, and speed up their workflows with No Click Access® and 95%+ adoption of EPCS, all while increasing the security of their patients’ information.

HealthEast emphasized that the Imprivata authentication and access management platform contributed to a successful Epic deployment in HealthEast hospitals.
