Imprivata to Showcase Solutions for No Click Access to Virtual Desktops during VMworld 2013
Customers to Lead Three Speaking Sessions about how Imprivata Provides Clinicians with Fast, Secure Access to Virtual Desktops to Enable Better Focus on Patient Care
Lexington, Mass.—August 20, 2013—Imprivata®, a leading global provider of healthcare IT security solutions, today announced that the company will have a significant presence at VMworld 2013 (August 26-29, 2013 in San Francisco). At the conference, Imprivata will showcase its single sign-on (SSO), authentication management and HIPAA-compliant secure text messaging solutions in booth #223.
In addition, Imprivata’s solutions for delivering fast, secure No Click Access® to clinical applications on virtual desktops to enable better focus on patient care will be the focus of three speaking sessions lead by Imprivata customers:
- Edward Ricks, vice president of information services and CIO at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, S.C., will deliver a presentation titled “Beaufort Memorial Hospital Enhances Patient Care with Secure Mobile Solutions” (session #EUC5369) on Tuesday, August 27 at 4 p.m. PDT. In this session, Ricks will discuss how Beaufort Memorial uses Imprivata to enable fast, secure access to roaming desktop sessions to increase adoption of electronic medical records (EMR) and pave the way for computerized physician order entry (CPOE). Ricks will also discuss the importance of deploying solutions that meet clinical workflow requirements and how the combination of virtual desktops, SSO and strong authentication, clinicians have secure, one-touch access to the EMR and other applications that follow them throughout their shifts.
- Aivars Apsite, technology strategist at Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich., will lead a presentation titled “Quantifying the Business Value of VMware Horizon View (session #EUC5211) on Wednesday, August 28 at 9:30 a.m. PDT. In this session, Apsite will discuss the return on investment Metro Health has realized from the combination of its VMware Horizon View and Imprivata OneSign® deployments. Apsite will also present the metrics Metro Health uses to calculate the significant cost savings and IT manageability improvements of its VMware and Imprivata implementation.
- Matthew Barrett, IT director of infrastructure and security at Jefferson Radiology in East Hartford, Conn., will deliver a presentation titled “Healthcare Customer Case Study: Maintaining PCI, HIPAA and HITECH Compliance in Virtualized Infrastructure” (session #SEC5589) on Wednesday, August 28 at 11:30 a.m. PDT. In this session, Barrett will discuss Jefferson Radiology’s VMware and Imprivata implementation as a model for healthcare organizations that need to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of patient information while also adhering to the compliance requirements of payment card processing.
