Imprivata, a leading global provider of healthcare IT security solutions, today announced a program to enable customers using the Citrix Single Sign-On (SSO) feature to seamlessly migrate to Imprivata OneSign Single Sign-On to enhance security and increase workflow efficiency. Organizations in healthcare and other industries that currently rely on Citrix to support Windows application SSO for XenDesktop and XenApp platforms are eligible to participate in Imprivata's migration program to quickly and cost-effectively implement OneSign.

Boston Business Journal: Imprivata eyes IPO, adds Beth Israel's Halamka to board
Lexington-based Imprivata, a IT security firm focused on the health care industry, is expecting an initial public offering within two years after growing to more than $50 million in revenue in 2012, CEO Omar Hussain said in an interview. The venture-backed company also announced Tuesday that it has added two to its board of directors — Dr. John Halamka, the well-known chief information officer of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Rodger Weismann, former CFO of Phase Forward (acquired by Oracle in 2010).

Keeping digitized personal health information private and secure, while opening up new lines of communication, is apparently clogging up some systems. That was reason enough for IT security company Imprivata to launch a global healthcare division in 2010 to help hospitals access data easily, efficiently and safely.

Metro Health is an integrated healthcare system with a regional 208-bed hospital, along with 25 clinics in Western Michigan. Metro Health was an early adopter of both EMR and CPOE technology.
