Epic Dorothy

Epic Dorothy (also known as EpicCare Home Health) is the Epic module designed to facilitate home health care management processes and documentation. Thanks to pre-built integrations with other Epic Systems tools and applications, including the Epic electronic health record (EHR), home health clinicians can access their patient’s full medical records and coordinate assessments, treatment plans, and clinical documentation to support and simplify care continuity. Epic Dorothy is used by clinicians who are physically within healthcare facilities, and remotely by visiting home health clinicians and caregivers to improve home health process efficiency.

The real-time documentation enabled by Epic Dorothy not only improves the quality of care but also reduces the administrative burden on clinicians, allowing them more time to focus on direct patient care. For example, a visiting caregiver could use Epic Dorothy to document a patient's blood pressure, temperature, and pain levels during a routine check-up, and this information is immediately available to other healthcare providers involved in the patient's care.
